Let's face it- the Holiday season isn't alway cheerful and magical. In fact, it can be quite stressful, specially in terms of finances. Christmas time can mean extra spending, and extra worries.
That's why I was so upset when a visit to the vet for my German Shepard ended in a $300.00 bill. Every winter, Tux gets some sort of eye infection that causes him to scratch his own eyes raw. Usually, I just call the vet and they send my a prescription for his steroid cream and we're all set. This year, since we changed vets, everything was different. Since the new veterinarian doesn't know Tux very well, she wanted to see him before giving him the steroid cream.
That's when I found out he had an infection which required expensive antibiotics on top of what seemed like an exorbitant charge for the visit.
Money has been tight lately between running the business and all of those extra holiday expenses. But when I brought Tux home, gave him his medicine, and tucked him in to bed, I had the realization: It's only money. And there is no amount of money I wouldn't spend on the things that matter- my family, my health, and my loving, precious, cooky, special, fur babies! :)
